How WNC Mountain Speech started...

I received my Masters of Art in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Ohio University. From 2015-2021, I was the Speech-Language Pathologist at Mars Hill Elementary school. I loved the community and developed my career there, but I was ready for a new adventure to help more children in the WNC area. I opened my own private practice, WNC Mountain Speech, in March of 2020 (ha!). Little did I know what would happen next... Fast forward 2 years and I have a 3 room office space in downtown Mars Hill in the Mars Hill's Massage & Health Center. I have 8 years of experience as a licensed SLP working with children with various communication disorders ranging from 18 months to 16 years of age. I have the most experience with children with speech sound disorders (articulation) and language delays/disorders, but I am always willing to learn and help in all areas of communication. I believe all children can communicate some way, some how, and I am dedicated to helping them do so. I am grateful for a career that I am so passionate about and I love connecting with new people.
